Day 2 - Great Wall

Today was a long day.  Due to the jet lag Miriam and I were up at 1 am... as I noted in the previous post.  We did get back to sleep around 3am.   Up again at 6:30 am for breakfast and on the bus at 8am headed to The Great Wall.  The wall was INCREDIBLE.   Words cannot describe.  We have seen it so many times in photos and TV but nothing can describe it when you see it in person.  Below are a few photos from The Wall.  It was very foggy and light snow falling, so not the best photo opportunity.

After The Great Wall, we went to the Cloisonne Factory.  It is where they make these pottery things that are made of copper and enamel.  Very cool!!!!   From there we went to the Jade factory.  Once again very interesting!!!   After that was lunch and off to the Pearl Market!!   Learned a lot at each stop!

Our tour guide, Chen, is great!!!  He is very informative and he has taught us a lot about China and the Chinese Culture.   We give him a hard time at times, but we are all having fun!   Another long day of sightseeing tomorrow!!!   Forbidden City here we come!

We are actually standing on The Great Wall

Miriam and Beth.  Another mommy to be in our travel group.  Can you believe how steep this is?

Another Cool Section of The Great Wall

Even though weather was not ideal, it was nice because it was not very crowded!
