Another good day here! Mayah was a great baby today. She even slept through the night, with a little help from mommy rubbing her belly when she fussed a little!!! It was nice not to have a 1am feeding this time around. Lets hope she does it again tonight!!!! Today we ventured across the canal off the island into the "market" and the mall. The market was very interesting. It was more of what I thought I would see in China. The front half of the market was strange. Lots of natural things for medicine. Mushrooms, flower buds, dried things galore, like roots, fungus, sea horses and even a lizard on a stick.... yes on a stick. There were all kinds of street food vendors.. so the aroma was lets just say, interesting. As we reach the end of the first half of the market, there was a shop selling LIVE scorpions. Little tiny ones, and much bigger ones, about probably about 8-10 inches long with the tail stretched out. The back half of the market was a pet store market. They had everything for sale. Dogs, cats, turtles, rabbits, birds, and even squirrels. At the end of the market was a modern mall. Like an outdoor Woodfield. It is a weird contrast but all very cool at the end when you come to think about it. We did walk around a little more on the island. Still trying to figure out which shops to visit while here. Here are some photos of the day.

Who's hungry? Come get your lizard on a stick while they last.
This may be hard to see, but this is a bucket full of small scorpions... Most of which are alive.
Here is a view of one of the streets in the Market. The mix of old and new in China is everywhere. These buildings are about 100 years old, but notice the new modern building in the background. This is a Holiday Inn.
Daddy and Mayah enjoying the market.
In the mall section today, there was a fountain with Koi fish, and for 5 Yuan (80 cents) you can get a bottle and feed the fish. They were hungry suckers. Look at all the fish trying to get to the bottle. They would actually suck on the bottle like a baby. It was wild.
Hinckley Delivery man in China. I counted 16 FULL 5 gal. water bottled on this bike. That is almost 800 pounds. Pretty impressive.
I told you lane markings are optional. This is 2 market lanes. Where do these people think they are going? It is a free for all.
It is good to know the little girl can sleep anywhere and in almost any position. She takes after her dad on this one!
adorable baby girl
